Uby - Welcome

UBY is a Linked Lexical Resource

UBY combines a wide range of information from 10 expert-constructed and collaboratively constructed resources for English and German:

A subset of these resources is inter-linked at the word sense level.

UBY is a valuable resource for many knowledge-based NLP applications. Get more information on the UBY website.

UBY Offers Interoperability Across Resources

UBY contains interoperable lexicons: the lexical resources contained in UBY have been made interoperable by converting them into lexicons according to a standard-compliant format based on the ISO standard Lexical Markup Framework (LMF), called UBY-LMF. UBY-LMF is a full-fledged instantiation of the abstract ISO standard LMF. Read more …

Learning UBY

Using UBY requires solid knowledge of lexical resources, such as WordNet and FrameNet and their underlying concepts. For instance, you should be able to tell the difference between a sense and a synset.
